Introducing our lead vocalist  Yani!

“Olá!” I’m a 25 year-old performer and music lover! Born and raised in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Music has been a part of me since I was only a few months old! I remember my parents telling me the only way they found to make me stop crying was to put a Victrola in my room and play some really loud classical music; I’d stop straight away! Haha! When I was about 8, I decided I wanted to be a drummer and a singer. I was the drummer/vocalist in a rock pop band with my brother and best friends for over 10 years but at the age of 21 I decided it was time to change my life around and made the move to Dunedin where I have been living for 3 years now. I was absolutely stoked when Adrian emailed me asking to join Livewire!  We had our first rehearsal and I was 100% in love with the band! I am so excited to be on board and am really enjoying working with these incredible musicians!
 

Caleb

A warm welcome to Caleb our new guitarist who has just joined the band. He is a 21 year old Dunedinite currently studying Computer Science at the University of Otago and has been playing guitar for 8 years give or take. Caleb has been exposed to the Oxo Cuban’s grooming school and says he is influenced by many genres from blues and pop to heavy metal. His favourite artists are Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Metallica and Black Sabbath. Caleb is looking forward to cutting loose with both his Fender Strat & Les Paul guitars and adding his sound to the Livewire soundscape.

Gav

On bass Gav has had a wide experience having played in a number of top Dunedin covers bands. Gav prides himself on playing silky smooth bass lines generating the rhythm to get people up and dancing all night long.

Adrian

On drums Adrian, founding member of LIVEWIRE. He has played in a number of Dunedin covers bands and surprises many as he also sings whilst playing furious beats n grooves as the backbone of the band.
